Voice networking is a sensitive and complex issue. There is no black and white standard that describes what a user thinks about voice quality. Overall quality therefore becomes a subjective measurement. As one wise man pointed out to me once, ‘Sometimes, things just sound like sh*t’!

So, you’ve got to rely on second opinions and the experience of others when making a voice network quality assessment. And you’ve got to have trust and faith in those peers.

Over the years, a few people have certainly contributed to my overall knowledge of voice networking. Oh, there are probably others, but these three individuals stand out in my mind. They are (in alphabetical order):
