Must’ve been a slow day at the Washington Post as reporter Daniel Larsen comes to the defense of Julian Assange. What a pathetic excuse of an article. You can read the senseless drivel here:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2022/06/18/espionage-act-dangerous/
Daniel Larsen writes, “Julian Assange’s leak of U.S. diplomatic cables certainly had nothing to do with the military”. That is factually accurate. Julian Assange did that as he ran a Tor exit node. At best, that just makes Julian Assange a run-of-the-mill scumbag.
Well, Mr. Larsen, let’s discuss the conspiracy component of the Espionage Act.
Q: Did Assange consistently ask Bradley Manning for more and more information?
Yes he did – just good spy craft.
Q: Is Assange’s WikiLeaks associated with a hostile foreign country?
WikiLeaks servers are in Russia, so yes, then are.
Q: Did Russia use WikiLeaks information against the United States?
Why, yes they have. In fact, Assange DID NOT redact any names of the US soldiers mentioned therein. Russia put together “Hit Lists” based upon those names. These soldiers are now in harms way – in perpetuity.
So let me offer you MY opinion, Mr. Larsen. Julian Assange’s head belongs on a stick. And that stick should be permanently affixed outside the entrance doors to the Washington Post and the Alison Richard Building at Cambridge. Perhaps this will be a useful reminder for too-goody idiots like you of what responsible journalism is all about.
